Rain, Rain, Go Away, Continued

As I was saying before I was rudely interrupted, I thought I did rather well. Unfortunately, the judges thought differently.

Fourth place.

Well, it was my first rodeo. I’ll do better next time.

But I wasn’t about to be deterred.

After I got home and did a little mulling and grumbling, I stood back and reassessed my painting. To no great surprise, I realized I still had plenty of work to do.

After consulting with a knowledgeable source, I followed twelve steps to make my painting pop.

It was amazing how much the painting improved. Stepping back, I took a long and hard look and asked, “What else can I do?” Using a very small brush and applying only the slightest touches, I brought the painting from the mundane to one that sparkles with life and energy.

I named my painting ROWDY the Whimsical Dog.
